An improved upper bound for queens domination numbers
نویسندگان
چکیده
We consider the domination number of the queens graph Qn and show that if, for some -xed k, there is a dominating set of Q4k+1 of a certain type with cardinality 2k + 1, then for any n large enough, (Qn)6 [(3k + 5)=(6k + 3)]n + O(1). The same construction shows that for any m¿ 1 and n = 2(6m − 1)(2k + 1) − 1, (Q n)6 [(2k + 3)=(4k + 2)]n + O(1), where Q n is the toroidal n× n queens graph. c © 2003 Elsevier Science B.V. A total dominating set of a graph $G$ is a set $D$ of vertices of $G$ such that every vertex of $G$ has a neighbor in $D$. The total domination number of a graph $G$, denoted by $gamma_t(G)$, is~the minimum cardinality of a total dominating set of $G$. متن کاملUpper bounds for the domination numbers of toroidal queens graphs
We determine upper bounds for γ(Qn) and i(Qn), the domination and independent domination numbers, respectively, of the graph Qn obtained from the moves of queens on the n× n chessboard drawn on the torus.
متن کاملSigned edge majority domination numbers in graphs
The open neighborhood NG(e) of an edge e in a graph G is the set consisting of all edges having a common end-vertex with e and its closed neighborhood is NG[e] = NG(e) ∪ {e}. Let f be a function on E(G), the edge set of G, into the set {−1, 1}. If ∑x∈NG[e] f(x) ≥ 1 for at least a half of the edges e ∈ E(G), then f is called a signed edge majority dominating function of G. The minimum of the val...
